In 2011, HPF created a mentoring program, where a Filipino Harvard student is paired with a Filipino high school student in the Boston area to act as an older brother or sister. Mentorship could include assisting the students with school work, extra-curriculars, college applications, etc. Besides this, mentors and mentees get together to have meals, share froyo, and watch cultural performances. The program launches with an informal gathering with food, icebreakers, and team-building exercises at the beginning of the semester. It is done in conjunction with schools like Boston Latin School, Andover School, and Iskwelahang Pilipino.
